Tuesday

Puramis

Three stone behemoths
mighty, colossal,
vivid.

More meaning than Christ
sacred, worshipped,
protected.

Much older than your Grandpa
crumbling, ancient,
remembered.

Accompanied by a giant Cat
purring, basking,
watching.

Ra has peered down on them
always, forevermore,
until the end of time.

Three stone behemoths
Khufu, Kafhre,
Menkaura.

A Ramble of Thoughts...

I've been thinking. I'm sure what I'm going to rant/lecture/
hypothesise about has been said before.

I'm learning about neurons in the human body in my biology class, and
how they act on impulses. There is an example given in my texts: "When
you accidentally bump your eye, you see "stars" or tiny pinpricks of
light. The bump caused neurons that normally carry light messages to
send a message to the brain, and the brain only interprets messages
from this part of the body as light."

What does this have anything to do with anything? Well.. I'm
thinking..... what if the world is not as we see it, or every person
sees something COMPLETELY different than what others see, what if all
colours are different and unique to each person? What if... nothing
actually exists.. we are just living in a big empty space, with our
brains playing tricks on us? Everything results in an impulse signal
from neurons carried to the central nervous system, then back to
wherever the impulse came from... your finger, eye, or tongue. If the
brain sent different impulses, or interpreted an impulse
differently... everything would be so different.

Everything we see, smell, touch, hear, taste... it's all just a
response from the brain. The brain could be making it up, for all we
know the brain we have could be a separate organism living on it's own
inside our body, us and it having a mutual relationship. What if? Who
knows... what is it, only 10% of the human brain has been discovered,
the last 90% is uncharted territory? It's like the bottom of the
ocean. We just don't know what's there, it could be anything.

----------

I read a book before, Sphere. I know I know, you're all thinking,
"Sphere was just a science fiction novel made into a crappy movie
about aliens!" ... well, the novel made me think. It made me think
hard. In the book (I won't ruin it for those of you who haven't read
it, so GO READ IT NOW! .. it's really good >_>) the characters start
to talk about this "alien" and how they can't go out to meet it. It
could be living in a fourth dimenson, it's body could be a shape we
can't comprehend and it would cause our heads to explode just upon
looking at it! Haha, not really. But it's interesting to think about,
isn't it? What if... there really are parallel universes? What if the
string theory is correct? It opens a whole batch of new questions for
us to not answer, but merely ponder over. Maybe some of us can go and
study it, and finally be the ones to say, "You know what world, we
will eventually chart the universe, we will create a
super genetic human, and we will answer the question of life.

We will. We are the generation, and we can do this! We don't
have to listen to all those people say, "Oh you silly kids, you're
never going to find out how evolution really happened, or what's in
the farthest reaches of space, or even if there ARE monsters at the
bottom of the ocean."

You know what, screw you world.
If we put our mind to this, we can do it.
